Ingredients


Base Cheesy Sauce (Makes enough for the base on one variation)
VARIATION 1: Antipasto Pizza Puffs
VARIATION 2: Mushroom, Pesto and Cheesy Pizza Puffs
VARIATION 3: BBQ Chicken & Red Onion Cheesy Pizza Puffs


Method


Each variation makes 8 pizza puffs

Base Cheesy Sauce

  1. Melt butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat and stir in flour.
  2. Please configure the Recipe Tip in the dialog.

  3. Cook for 1 minute, pour in milk in two batches, stirring well between each addition. Continue to stir until there are no lumps, about 5 minutes.

  5. Remove from heat and stir in Perfect Pizza Cheese. Cool completely.

VARIATION 1: Antipasto Pizza Puffs

  1. Preheat oven 220°C / 200°C fan-forced. Line 2 baking trays with baking paper and place squares onto each tray.

  3. Spoon a tablespoon of the cheesy sauce into the middle of each square. Spoon over 1-2 teaspoons of pizza sauce.
  4. Please configure the Recipe Tip in the dialog.

  5. Divide antipasto and pepperoni amongst pastry squares and top with remaining Perfect Pizza cheese.
  6. Please configure the Recipe Tip in the dialog.

  7. Fold each of the corners of the pastry toward the centre of the square without joining the points.

  9. Bake for 15 minutes, swapping trays over halfway. Pizza puffs should be golden with oozing cheese. Serve warm or cold.

VARIATION 2: Mushroom, Pesto and Cheesy Pizza Puffs

  1. Preheat oven 220°C / 200°C fan-forced. Line 2 baking trays with baking paper.

  3. Cut each pastry sheet into 4 equal squares and place on to prepared baking trays.
  4. Please configure the Recipe Tip in the dialog.

  5. Working inside each pastry square score a smaller square approx. 1- 1 ½ cm from the edge.

  7. Spoon one tablespoon of cheesy sauce into the centre of each pastry square and spread out slightly to the edges. Dollop a heaped teaspoon of pesto over the top and add 3-4 mushroom slices.

  9. Scatter cheese evenly, making sure to leave the pastry boarder clear.

  11. Bake 15 minutes, swapping trays over halfway. Serve warm.

VARIATION 3: BBQ Chicken & Red Onion Cheesy Pizza Puffs

  1. Preheat oven 220°C / 200°C fan-forced. Line 2 baking trays with baking paper.
  2. Please configure the Recipe Tip in the dialog.

  3. Cut each pastry sheet into 4 equal squares and place onto prepared baking trays
  4. Please configure the Recipe Tip in the dialog.

  5. Spoon one tablespoon of cheesy sauce onto the centre of each square.
  6. Please configure the Recipe Tip in the dialog.

  7. Mix 2 tablespoons of BBQ sauce with chicken and place over the top of cheesy sauce. Scatter with red onion and drizzle over remaining BBQ sauce

  9. Top each square with Perfect Pizza cheese.

  11. Bring two opposite corners to the centre and pinch together. Repeat with remaining squares. Bake for 15 minutes, swapping trays halfway. Serve warm or cold.
